How Kukkiwon Certification works
To obtain Kukkiwon certification you need to be recommended by a qualified Kukkiwon certified Master who is the same nationality as the candidate or resides in the same country as the candidate, having done so for more than 6 months. You will not be able to go to another country for the purpose of being tested and an foreign examiner may not recommend a person for Kukkiwon qualification. It is not true that only WTF member National Associations can apply for Kukkiwon applications.
Skip Dan
Skip Dan is possible but it depends on individual circumstances. To skip several dans needs the permission of the Kukkiwon or for the applicant to be tested at the Kukkiwon in Seoul, Korea. Final approval for skip dan applications is with the Kukkiwon in Korea.
